Pioneer Square Pedestrian Connections

City of Seattle’s Office of the Waterfront and Civic Projects

Working in partnership with the Alliance for Pioneer Square, the City of Seattle’s Office of the Waterfront and Civic Projects has designed and will construct pedestrian improvements on portions of King Street, Main Street, Washington Street, and Yesler Way, between Second Avenue and Alaskan Way. These efforts will help connect Pioneer Square to Seattle’s new, 20-acre waterfront park, enhancing accessibility for people of all ages and abilities. The scope of the project includes improved sidewalks, new landscaping, and adjustments to traffic circulation on portions of the impacted streets. Project construction is expected to begin in fall 2023 and extend into fall 2024.
